After the success of the first installment, we saw action movie icons like Chuck Norris and Jean-Claude Van Damme reverse their initial decisions and join what will hopefully be Con Air director Simon West’s superior sequel, The Expendables 2. But even with that increased level of badassery, one name has still been notably absent from the gang. Now, we hear that Expendables 3 (which may start filming sooner before later) might be the film that finally breaks his holdout.

Said Seagal:
“He [Sylvester Stallone] plans to do another one and I have already been made an offer. We’ll see …”The star sounds rather nonchalant in that response, but we can’t imagine why – it’s not as if he has been burning up the silver screen lately. Seagal is best known (and often mocked) these days for the TV series True Justice, and his real-life pursuits; other than that, his only (semi-)memorable movie role of recent memory was his part in Robert Rodriguez’ Machete spin-off.

There may be a very good reason that Sylvester Stallone is going back to an R rating for his upcoming sequel The Expendables 2. If co-star Randy Couture has his facts straight, Sly is planning a trilogy of films for this franchise, and he wants to stay on the good side of his fans to ensure that happens.
A third film seems like a no brainer, and it will be coming quicker than we could have imagined. According to Couture, this next installment of the action icon packed series is already planned and will "probably" shoot in the fall, shortly after The Expendables 2 hits theaters in August.

Countless people around the Interwebz were stirred up into a virtual riot (pun intended) in the early goings of 2012, when word got out that The Expendables 2 - a macho action throwback flick that writer/star Sylvester Stallone has described as a “Barbeque of Grand scale Ass Bashing” – was shaping up to be a PG-13 Rated affair, due largely to co-star Chuck Norris objecting to the “hardcore language” present in Stallone’s script draft.
While Stallone was fairly quick to confirm that rumor as being true rather than the result of a mistranslation, the beefy sexagenarian has since back-peddled on his claim. Sly is now reported as having said that the sequel to The Expendables will indeed be an R-Rated affair, like its predecessor – not to mention the innumerable manly action titles of the 1980s and 90s that both flicks emulate.
Bear in mind, this news does not mean that Norris’ wishes for The Expendables 2 to not feature loads of vulgar language is being ignored. The film could be ready to earn an R rating primarily for grisly action and graphic violence, rather than for featuring tons of f-bombs and similar “hardcore” curses – which would allow for Norris’ demand(s) to still be satisfied. Either way, it’s enough of a win situation for everyone else.

Q: What do you think of today’s action heroes?
A: The action film is pretty much a thing of the past, the kind Arnold and I did, or Chuck Norris, which is self-generated. Today’s action hero, his skills are through technology. He can fly, he can throw a bolt of lightning, he can freeze people. It’s not in-the-trench action. And I don’t know if that’s ever going to come back. That’s why Expendables worked. It was a walk down memory lane with 11 of the ugliest action dudes I’ve ever seen in my life on one poster. It was thug village.
Q: You came back with Rocky Balboa.
A: My career was over, dead with a fork in it. Ten years past prime. I said let me do one more thing and end Rocky on the proper note. Every door was closed. The studio said, “Even if you got financing we wouldn’t do it. You’re a joke. No one wants to see a broken-down fighter following a sequel that was a disaster 16 years earlier.” I was down in Mexico all depressed. This producer walked in. I said, “I wrote another Rocky.” I think he took the script as a courtesy. His wife read it and she cried. He said if you can do this thing for $20 million … [Rocky Balboa would gross $150 million worldwide.] I’m dying to do another Rambo. He’s in Arizona on the border. It will involve him going into Mexico. I don’t think Rambo likes Mexicans.

Arnold and Syl Prepare for The Tomb movie

Production recently wrapped on The Expendables 2, and as one would expect, these action movies take a toll on the body. Actor Arnold Schwarzenegger recently went in to have his shoulder worked on, and, coincidentally, he happened to be there at the same time Sylvester Stallone was in for shoulder surgery.
"After all the action, stunts & physical abuse shooting The Expendables 2 and The Last Stand, it was time for a little tune up on my shoulder. Look who was coincidentally waiting in line behind me for his shoulder surgery. Now we're ready for another round of great times and action when we shoot The Tomb."

Terry Crews Talks about PG-13 Rating

Terry Crews was the latest to speak out on The Expendables 2's PG-13 rating, calling it necessary. This is what Terry Crews had to say, basically blaming Eat, Pray, Love for the new rating.
"It's PG-13. Do you really think only men 40 and over saw the first one? The kids bought tickets to Eat, Pray, Love and walked right into The Expendables. In fact, they were YOUR kids. I get it. I really do. But boobs and blood do not a good movie make. You don't want to go. Don't go. I respect it. But you will miss the greatest thing you've ever seen."

On Wednesday, the rumor mill went crazy when action star Chuck Norris declared the script for "The Expendables 2" too vulgar, and was upset by the idea that "many young people" would miss out. "I said I won't be a part of that if the hardcore language is not erased," he told the Polish paper Gazeta, (via First Showing). "Producers accepted my conditions and the movie will be rated PG-13."
Sylvester Stallone has confirmed that the second part of this epic blood battle will indeed receive a wholesome rating, but promises stars Jean-Claude Van Damme, Bruce Willis, Liam Hemsworth, Arnold Schwarzenegger and more will deliver.
"The film is fantastic with Van Damme turning in an inspired performance... Our final battle is one for the ages," Stallone told Aint it Cool. "The PG-13 rumor is true, but before your readers pass judgement, trust me when I say this film is LARGE in every way and delivers on every level. This movie touches on many emotions which we want to share with broadest audience possible, BUT, fear not, this Barbeque of Grand Scale Ass Bashing will not leave anyone hungry... Sly."

Charisma Carpenter will reprise her role as Lacy (Jason Statham's girlfriend) in The Expendables 2, the sequel to the successful 2010 movie The Expendables, the Spanish actress tells Latina.com exclusively.
"I'm thrilled to be back with the boys and to be working with iconic actors," Charisma said. "My son thinks I’m the coolest mom ever!" She comfirmed that news many times on her Twitter :)

"I just shot 'Expendables 2' ... That's another film that I want to go see. It will be weird that I'm in it."
Hemsworth admitted that he was a bit starstruck on the set of "Expendables 2," given that the cast is chock-full of Hollywood's most celebrated action stars.
"I grew up watching these guys and their movies, and then all of a sudden you have to pinch yourself when you're on set. You're looking at Stallone, Statham, Couture, Terry Crews, Van Damme, Dolph Lundgren" he said. "It's silly, it really is.
"You couldn't ask for a bunch of better guys than them," Hemsworth added. "They're so professional, good guys, so welcoming. That can be such a daunting thing for an actor to come on set with those guys, and they honestly couldn't have been nicer. They're just amazing."

While the only female presence in The Expendables were damsel in distress, the sequel Expendables 2 will introduce a new female member to join the mercenary team. Chinese actress Yu Nan who appeared in The Wachowskis' Speed Racer and Wind Blast will play this role under the name Maggie. Not much else is known about her character as of yet but I'm speculating that she is just as capable as the guys on the battlegrounds, not just a helpless bystander.
In other related news, various Chinese language news sources are reporting that the production crew were unable to obtain the necessary permits to shoot in China so the shooting location has evidently been switched to Hong Kong.

On the list of "manly" sports, tennis doesn't really rank towards the top of the list. Sure, the athletes in the sport are some of the most physically capable in the world (do you have the strength to hit a serve 155 mph?) but are still placed behind the men who professionally play football, basketball, hockey and baseball. But how many active players in those sports have a role in a movie alongside Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Bruce Willis, Chuck Norris, and every other major action star from the last 30 years?
Novak Djokovic, the Serbian tennis player who has been ranked number 1 in the world since early July, apparently has a role in The Expendables 2, according to Deadline. If you're worried about about his ability to perform as another person, however, let me quell your fears: Djokovic will be playing himself (he's also known as quite the showman on the court, as well). He was invited to be in the film by producer Avi Lerner and is already in Bulgaria, where the movie is currently shooting.

When this came out yesterday, everyone thought its first official poster for the movie, but Millennium send notice to all web sites to remove it cuz it was not made by them. So I cut the down part of the poster with all official stuff and just post the upper part as a fan made poster. Since this is a fan site, I post everything related to Expendables :)
But who ever made this, its really awesome looking.
